it's thunder weekend!

It's the kickoff to Derby Festival this weekend! Tonight Cards football has their annual spring game at 7 pm at L&N Federal Credit Union Cardinal Stadium. Tomorrow it's one of the world's largest air shows, and fireworks displays for the 34th Annual Thunder Over Louisville. Thunder kicks off Derby Festival, which will culminate with the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby. What a great weekend for recruiting! Pat Kelsey will have 5-Star Jayden Quaintance 6'9" 230 lb PF from Raleigh, NC... Koren Johnson 6'2" 178 lb CG out of Seattle (Washington)... Trey Townsend 6'6" 228 lb F/G out of Oxford, MI (Oakland U)... and Aboucabar Traore 6'5" G 195 lb F/G out of Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire (Long Beach State) Too many to list for Jeff Brohm's squad. Cards football is losing a "few" players to the transfer portal, but if you believe all the "insiders" on X... the sky is falling. LOL
Basketball recruiting is in a bit of a lull right now. The Cards currently have 4 players on th 2024-25 roster, and 3 of them are guards. Things should be picking up rapidly. Cards have 3 on campus today... Jayden Quaintance, Aly Khalifa and Aboubacar Traore. LFG!

Louisville women's basketball
Jeff Walz is having a phenominal recruiting year for the 2024-25 class. MacKenley Randolph, a McDonald's All-American from Sierra Canyon high school out of Chatsworth, CA has signed on the dotted line. She is the daughter of former Michigan State and NBA player Zach Randolph, and joins Sierra Canyon teammate, Izela Arenas, daughter of former Arizona and NBA player Gilbert Arenas on Jeff Walz squad next year.
